can i get freeview through a sky + dish?

the flats which i live have recently been upgraded with a communal sky + dish and each flat fitted with a wall mounted faceplate. i dont want to subscribe to sky but would like to continue to use my freeview box- however the tv displays 'no signal' when i connect through the new faceplate.

is it possible to access freeview through the sky dish?
maybe there is an aerial amplifier i can buy to improve the signal?

any suggestions greatly appreciated

You cannot receive the terrestrial digital TV service "Freeview" via a dish...you need a terrestrial aerial for that.
Alternatively you could buy a second-hand Sky box connect that to the dish and get Freesat...you just need to pay Sky a one-off payment of £20 for a viewing card.
