Lightbulb Problem with Sky+ & Samsung LE32R73BD

Can anyone help?

We've had Sky+ and a Samsung LE32R73BD tv since November 2006. Since having them installed we have been experiencing flashing black and white picture and dodgy sound (sounds a bit like Norman Collier), when playing back recorded programs.

Apparently Currys.digital have never heard of such a problem, but I managed to find a review of the 40" version with exactly the same problem.

We've tried a different tv (set up exactly the same) and this works perfectly.

can anyone tell me if this is a problem with the Sky box or the TV?

It's your Samsung - this has been covered already on this forum so take a look at some of the previous posts.

To prove the matter try a portable TV and youshould see the fault disappear.

We've tried the bedroom tv, and yes the fault did disappear. Which confirmed my suspicions - that it was the tv!

Yes Jaycee - it is a well documentated problem with Samsung, Daewoo and LG flat panel sets - I've seen it myself many times over and the solution to fixing the problem in all cases was for the customer to upgrade to a 'better brand name'
