Problems on both my Pace Sky+ Boxes?

I have been experiencing problems with both my Pace boxes lately and wondered if there was anything I could do to get around the problems. I have read on here about problems with Amstrad boxes but not so much with the Pace ones.

Box 1

Over the past couple of days, I am getting loads of sound dropouts on all recorded material - even if it was fine when I have watched it before. Am also getting some dropouts when just watching 'live' tv.

Box 2

Your lucky if this box will actually grab a signal. Most times you swict it on and it says no signal is being received, change channels and then for 10 mins or so its fine, then the no signal warning comes back up on screen. This box was suffering picture and sound dropouts up until a week ago when the new problems started?

I can't believe both boxes are not proving troublesome - they are only about 16 months old.

Can anyone help please

Re: Problems on both my Pace Sky+ Boxes?

I guess that could be the issus with Box 2.

As for Box 1, I'm concerned its a Disk problem. I mean the sound is breaking up on programmes with have already watched, from the Disk, on a couple of occasions and there was no problem before - just over the past day or so.

Have there been any upgrades/downloads this week that could have affected it??

Re: Problems on both my Pace Sky+ Boxes?

Humm, it could be your LNB you know! Or dish alignment. If the signal is intermittent then it could just interfere with your recordings as it continually loses signal.

The best solution would be to source a cheap LNB before writing off the boxes.

Also try a force update and reformat of the HDD (but this will lose the recorded material already on the HDD)

Cheers, Franc
