Sky+sound +picture problems

Had an engineer out this morning to replace an Amstrad model A20B015 version 4F2001 operating on sky+4.10.c with the sound and picture problems listed on this site with a Pace PRV3,So engineer turns up says its a signal fault and realigns dish etc then checks signal and its ok so i put box on channel 101 start recording then switch over to channel 604,sure enough after a few seconds picture and sound start acting up,so engineer says this will happen because both are on same transponder,so i flick to another channel fault still there. So he agrees to change box comes back in with a Thomson refurb box,as he says has no Pace boxes on board. After hes set it up he leaves channels come back on and i test box with channel 101 then record and switch to channel 604 and guess what the problem is still there.Only now box is noisier than before and i can also hear the hard drive clicking as its recording Anyone else got this on the Thomson model 127B146on sky+4.20.a software.Have rung them back and have been told they only fit refurb boxes.

Re: Sky+sound +picture problems

Sound keeps cutting out on mainly recorded material As said box has been swapped but problem remains. If you read Frantic Francs thread titled sky+test this is how i tested mine.Ie put your box on channel 101 then start to record it then whilst recording channel 101 switch box to channel 604 and observe for a few minutes, when ive done this on both my boxes after a minute or less sound starts to dropout(ie miss)and then picture freezes and blocks up.Have tried the test on variuos channels with same result.I have also tried putting box on channel 101 starting to record from it and watching it at the same time this is also causing the same problem.

Re: Sky+sound +picture problems

Rung sky+ again today about this problem and was told they would ring me back with a date and time for a return visit as the system was down. This was at 10 this morning still waiting,im seriously thinking of cancelling after this, and looking at listings for movies today seems 2 or 3 movie channels have gone.

I get a intermittent problem but its always on Ch4, and The F Word. I have no idea how to explain it, expect that the picture jitters? Both when running live and playback.

We've also got a similar but slightly different problem with Live football on Setanta.

Rest of the channels perfect. Strange.
