Question Will Sky+ work with only one feed.

Had SKY HD installed downstairs replacing my Sky+, upstairs have a normal sky box, If I install the Sky+ box upstairs and get it paired to the card from the normal box will it work with only the one sat. feed (I know I wont be able to record 2 channels or watch different channel to one recording etc!)?

Asked installer to put a another cable in upstairs while he installed HD but said he didn't have time! Don't fancy doing it myself as dish on back of house, box upstairs on front so cable has to go over roof & I'm not a great fan of heights !!

Why not get an installer in to do another cable?

Any idea of cost for getting this done? Mrs thinks I've spent enough just lately, sky hd, hdtv & speaker system!

get a length of cable and do it yourself. the hole will already be there where cable 1 comes in. simply plug it into the quad lnb and then pin it to the wall where your existing one is - then plug in to back of box and bob should be your dads brother!

Book a fake service call on the HD box and when the installer arrives ask him if he'll put the extra cable in for 20quid. He'll probably be more than happy to for the backhander!
Cheers, Franc

Yes, the Sky+ box, subject to the restrictions you've already listed, will be fine with a single feed.
