Pop then SKY+ goes into standby

3rd SKY+ box thats on it way out. It pops then goes into standby. Pause has failed recently too. I have been into the install menu 0,0,1,ent to do housekeeping but it pops each time I try. Anybody any clues?

SKy were going to charge £200 for a new box, or £65 for an engineer visit and a refurb box. I complained to cancellations dept and got a new box for free.
