Bleak House

I'm in two minds as to whether to record the entire of Bleak House series which is going to be shown this weekend. As there are 15 episodes, it will take up (4% x 15 episodes) 60% of my precious hard disk space!!!

I'll be away for that weekend, is it worth recording? I could easily delete my HD films I've got which are taking up space as no doubt they will be repeated.

I watched it first time round and I am planning on watching it again in HD. I really enjoyed it but it is heavily stylised so I guess that could be off-putting for some.

The disk space requirements are indeed onus, what between Bleak House, Deep Blue, Super Volcano, about half a dozen films and the boxing I've run out of space several times over.

Slim,

Digiguide lists Bleak House as 1 x 1 hour and 16 x 1/2 hour slots for Bleak house... So only 36% hard drive usage! DONT DELETE THOSE FILMS YET!!!!

Hmmm.... not so sure about that. Last night I recorded Planet Earth (1 hour) on BBC-HD, and "Bride and Prejudice" on Sky Movies 9HD (2 hours). Planet Earth took up more space.

Nick,

Going by what the Sky+ planner says the 1 hour episode is 4% and the half hour's are 2%...

and i guess the bitrates make a difference between the two diff channels?

Thanks for that!!!

I series linked it and saw that the first episode was 4% and thus assumed that the rest would be the same. Nice one.

I recorded Bleak House ok. But got back to find (unsurprisingly) that I've only got 3% of space left!!! I must watch Planet Earth, Hannibal, Red Dust et al and clear some space!

g/f set bleak house to record over the weekend. One failed recording - episode 2... lol

Means it's going to take up loads of disk space for ages!!! (I noticed they're currently showing it in SD on BBC4, but that's now on episode 5, so can't even get round it that way)...

Well I recorded 'em all which left me no space. Sat down to watch it and simply could not get through the first one even. I'd be interested to know how many would watch it if it wasn't in HD

I watched in SD when it first came out, have bought the DVD, and watched the HD version first time around.

It's a stunning piece of drama, and garnered much praise as well as high viewer ratings.

That doesn't mean that everyone will like it, of course.
