Angry Poor Picture Quality from Sky + with Philips 32DW6559

Hi I have just "upgraded" from a 28" widescreen panasonic TV to a 32" widescreen, pure flat etc philips (model - 32DW6559). The picture quality from the built in digital tuner is fantastic and I receive all the usual freeview channels etc. The only piece of equipment I have connected is a Sky + box which is 1 month old. When I flick between the Digital tuner and the sky + source the picture quality is hugely different. Sky appears slightly ghosted and is not good at all. It is shimmery when there are blocks of solid colour and in general the resolutions is very poor. I tried playing with the settings and spent over an hour on the phone to sky but the picture quality is still rubbish. I have checked the scart and used 3 different ones with no success. I even made sure it is connected to the correct RGB enabled SCARt socket. Any ideas as this is really driving me mad and the wife isn't happy as when I plug in the old tv the picture quality is back to normal!

HELP

Has the digibox been set to output RGB within the "System Setup", "Picture Settings" menu, you should see a definite shift as you toggle back and forth between "Pal" and "RGB"?

Hi thanks for your reply. I have ensured that it is set to RGB. On PAL it is terrible quality. Could it be the SCART?

So you do see a noticeable difference when the menu is on-screen and you switch back and forth between PAL and RGB?

Poor quality scart leads can introduce "ghosting/ringing" effects in the picture.
Make sure the scarts are "individually screened" types rather than "overall screened" types...the thicker the lead the better is a good indication of quality.

there is a big difference between PAl and RGB when I change the settings. I have a cheap £2 ish SCARt and a slightly more pricy £5 SCART that I got from ebay and the £5 one is slightly thicker and I get better quality. I'm guessing this is the problem. Would anyone recommend a particulalry good SCART or are they all pretty similar if I spend a bit more?
