Slow Thomson Sky + box

I have just upgraded my Sky box to a brand new Thomson sky + box, but i have noticed that the changing of channels is much slower then my old machine (which was Thomson as well). Old box would change channels instantly, new box has a 1-1.5 second delay. Is this normal, or should i complain and get it changed? Any advice much appreciated.

I went from Sky+ version 1 to a free upgrade 160GB box and yes it is slower and noisier IMO. But makes up for it with lots of HDD space

I've been told that this is a feature from a lot of my friends - was thinking it was the Thomson box, but my friends have the PACE box and have the same issue - i guess its something you get use to.
