Been looking for an excuse to buy Sky+? How about this....?

ALL Sky movie channels, less Sky Cinema 1 & 2, are now broadcasting ALL movies in Dolby digital!!

However, don't get to excited about it though...the majority of films are NOT in 5.1, but DD 2.0 - including the majority of Sky's latest premieres like Sky Captain & The World Of Tomorrow.

But, do keep an eye on Sky Movies 9 & 10 (not the HD versions...). Movies that have previously been broadcast on Sky Movies 1, 2 or 3 in Dolby Digital 2.0 are appearing in 5.1 - Spider Man 2 being the one that sticks out mostly...

Hi family guy me old mate.

I have a dvd recorder with built in hard drive. Is it really worth upgrading to SKY+ If I have this. Its something that I have been thinking about for a while ( I have normal sky digital) But dont really want to be sending much more than the £19 a month I give to them in subs at the moment. What do you think?

Dave

It's immediatly going to cost you more than that £19 Dave I'm afraid...if you don't subscribe to at least premium channels (I think it's 2...possibly 1...), you have to fork out an extra tenner for the privelage of recording...so it's probably better that you keep what you've got at the moment.
However, Sky+ does give the option of recording 2 channels at the same time whilst watching a previous recording...not to mention live pause and rewind etc...

I was in the same boat a year ago with just the standard Sky box and a DVDR.
I upgraded to Sky+ and to be honest I don't know when I last used the DVDR.
I bought my own Pace V2 which has been reliable and I have suffered no problems at all with it even since the last EPG software download...touch wood.
I wouldn't be without Sky+...it is so easy to use and the pic is first class. I bought a 200gb HDD to fit and will get around to fitting it once I've watched the remaining stuff or dumped it to the DVDR.
I have the movies package with "FilmFour" added and hopefully when that goes free-to-air my Sky subs will come down a bit.
