Same thing here on my Thompson. It was fitted at the weekend, and we've had various "judders" with the sound while watching while recording, and while watching a recording last night.

It was playing like a slow PC struggling with a DVD.

It also crashed last night (would not get any guides), and I had to do a soft reboot.

My trusty-old Panasonic box was in situ for nearly 5 years, with only 1 "crash" (which a power reset sorted), and no other problems.
