Wrong I'm afraid, for multiroom, you have to have both boxes connected to the same phone line for the full duration of your multi room contract.

If fitting a phone line is not an option, you can get wireless phone extenders - you should be OK using one of those with the second box.

Either way a solution needs to be in place before installation as there's a chance that the installer (I hate having to call them engineers ) will refuse to activate the multiroom subscription.

i looked into using wireless phone extenders when i signed up to Multi Room 16 months ago.

they do not work with Broadband/Telephone lines (or didnt then)

i cancelled the multiroom after 12 months of grief from Sky abput phone lines not being installed in rooms that had second boxes.

the second box is now Free To Air Sky (no Sky Sports/Movies, Sky1/2/3, NTV/VH1 etc; but the kids are happy with the FTA channels)

Maplin do a wireless telephone extender that is specifically quoted as supporting voice, fax and data so that could be a good place to start.
