Any answers/solutions to Amstrad SKY+ 'vertical banding'?

Hi

I have been reading posts in this forum relating to Amstrad sky+ boxes and picture quality - in particular the 'vertical banding' experienced by many Amstrad owners.

The vertical bands although faint - are extremely annoying once you're aware of them especially when your've paid £150 for the hardware (and another £60 for somebody to run a piece of cable , but that's another issue) . Its even more annoying when my old Pace digibox was so much better in terms of picture quality!

My question is - has anyone got a definitive answer/solution to this problem? There are many conflicting opinions, some believe it to be a software issue, others blame the use of inferior cables, some say Sky are working on it whilst others say Sky are not aware of it and don't accept it to be a problem at all.

Has anyone managed to resolve this issue short of getting a Pace box?

Cheers
