Hi
Really sorry if covered elsewhere - have had a look.
I'm jumping ship to Vigin Media next week and want to use my old skyplus box in another room from freesat. Am i right in thinking I'll need to get the current wires from the sky dish into the new room where I want the skyplus box to be? If so, is it legit to ask the Virgin installer to help with this (perhaps for a few quid) when he/she comes to install - eg help me drill through exterior wall into new room?
Thanks in advance...

No harm in asking and certainly legit:)

Remember that without a sub the + features won't work unless you pay £10/month for the privilege of recording the FTA/FTV channels

Bear in mind the Sky+ box will be a receiver only after your Sky subsciption ceases (all the Sky+ recording/playback functionality will be disabled).

Which is what I said above :D with:

Has anyone found a way round this short of paying the Sky £10 TAX ?

No.

Well, actually yes
BUT
only one one make and model (now discontinued) of Sky+ box

As I recall it involved a fair bit of soldering/jtag etc. and changed the menus
