Hi.

I am a Sky subscriber at present but would like a Sky+ box but am not sure that the offer being made to get a Sky+ HD box with movies (both for 12 months) is the most cost-effective. This seems to be £10pm for HD + Movies £? for 12 months + £30 installation.

But a Sky+ box on its own apparently costs £200 ?plus installation.

As an alternative you could always source your own Sky+ box (e.g. ebay) and phone Sky to have your existing card re-paired and the + features activated- there is no charge and Sky+ is free with a minimum 1Mix subscription.

Remember, though, that Sky+ requires two feeds from the LNB for all the functions to work so your LNB on the dish may need to be changed and an extra cable installed - all of this is covered if you go through Sky.

Any Sky HD sub costs £10/month regardless of what other mixes you have and you'd be contracted for 12 months with the current offer
