Another which box question?

Dear all,

Getting my second Sky HD box fitted next week and want to know what the current favourite brand of HD box is. Searched and some say Amstrad some say Pace.

Thoughts

Cheers

Si

They all have their niggles but i would advise you to not get a samsung as they have had a major picture deterioration since the new EPG update.
I have the Amstrad and it's fantastic

Some Samsungs have not had the PQ effected. So it is not a universal problem. Ours is fine.

If you are getting it from Sky you will probably get no choice but by all accounts all three on offer are now pretty similar. We have a Pace and Samsung and both are excellent boxes.

Amstrad had a contrast issue that effected PQ for some people but the new EPG has fixed that according to reports from those who have just got it.

So - yes - they all have minor glitches - but unless you get a Samsung that is effected as reported above (which you should reject as faulty) I doubt you will find major differences with any of the current boxes.

My opinion only, of course, based on 6 months use of a new Pace and Samsung.

Put me down for the Amstrad. No experience of the other manufacturers but, having had my Amstrad for 3 months nearly & having upgraded my hard drive to 1Tb, I am delighted with the box

Just awaiting the new EPG to give a final evaluation!!
