Samsung downstairs still waiting and making the most of it.

Blessed relief using the old EPG on it compared to the Pace upstairs, which leaves me feeling like an OAP attempting to tackle a VCR.

you may be in luck then .

I have a Samsung box still with the old EPG and was so sick of the lack of information I called up to enquire about the new EPG and after initially getting nowhere I was eventually told that Samsing and Amstrad boxes will not be getting the new EPG update in the near future due to version stability issues. They are doing all they can to fix the problems and continue with the roll out at a later date .. no timescale was available !!

Noooooooooooooooo .. I want my EPG

We got a booklet from Sky showing the new guide and its features, this was back in April, possibly even March.

But this has not shown up on the Sky box yet, as an after thought, do you need to have it plugged into the telephone line to get it, or do you need to do a forced firmware update?

you don't need to be connected to a phone line for the update .. it is done via the dish.

You shouldn't need to do a forced update but it won't hurt to try it .. will take about 10-15 mins !

Re: The NEW EPG?

I got the revamped EPG a short while ago on my Pace box, and wish I could roll back to the old version. The new guide looks prettier but seems slower, with a more unwieldy interface. At first I thought it was just a matter of getting used to it, but it's as much of a chore to navigate now as it was when I initially got the thing.
