IDE or SATA

Hi

I have already upgraded my Sky+ box with a seagate 500g. Thing is I thought it was an IDE drive. Am I correct in thinking Sky HD is SATA?

Reason I am asking is that the following drive..

Hitachi Deskstar P7K500 500GB 3.5" SATA

can be pricematched with PC World (with DABs) for £37. I am assuming this would be OK with Sky HD?

Any help appreciated

Sky+ is IDE but all SkyHD STBs are SATA

Re: IDE or SATA

Your correct , the Sky HD drive is 3.5 inch SATA. That drive you have pricematched should work fine.

Re: IDE or SATA

picked up the tip from hotukdeals

PC World price 64.99

dabs price 42.17

PC world price match by reducing price by 110% of differance.

Someone kindly put links into both stores web page where item was priced and a link to pc world price match promise - just print off all 3 and take in.

Model is HDP725050GLA360

Hope that helps
