SKY HD standby switching problem

Referring to thread : Simple HDMI switcher which suggest the SKY HD box continuesly sends out an HDMI feed which can stop some switch boxes from working correctly, I refained from buying the Thor auto switch box even though it states on the package it's specifically for SKY HD.

However, have SKY now fixed the problem with the latest software release? The reason I say this is my Panasonic 37PV70 defaults to analogue TV unless it detects an AV signal. If I turn the TV on when the SKY HD box is in standby it defaults to analogue TV. If I then turn the SKY HD box on, the TV switches to HDMI input. I then turn off the SKY HD box and the TV switches back to analogue TV. Perfect!!

...so why doesn't the Thor switch do this. There obviously is a change to the signal when the SKY HD box is in standby else the Panasonic wouldn't switch automatically between feeds.

It sounds like Sky may have fixed this, if it ever existed, and the Thor in theory should work.

Does any one know any more on this???
