Problem with 24 on HD & Lost 20/05/07

I started to watch 24 recorded on Sky HD from planner last night only for it to cut half way through . It then would not restart when reselected form planner, I could not even get to the screen with the viewer defined/ last viewed option .

Then when I tried to view LOST it came up as an incomplete recording due to power failure so I hope I can view it from the anytime listing .

Anybody else have a similar problem?

Didn't notice any problem with 24, although I haven't watched it yet, it seems to be OK in the planner.

Lost is better on Anytime though. No ads and no DOG

I have had this for the second week running. The box crashes while we are watching 24 after about thirty five minutes in, and cannot be opened in the planner. Lost is recorded OK. There seem to be a number of options, if I want to keep my viewing habits of watching them both on the same night and not getting to bed too long after eleven.

Change the settings from automatic for time between programs. Will this work?

Turn off Anytime and see if thats better. My Sky+ box works to record 24 and Lost back to back no problem.

Watch and record 24 then watch last weeks Lost from the anytime, but will it still be there at 10.00 pm the next week? If I place it on the plannar from anytime will it stay there for more than a week?

Yes, if you copy it from anytime into your own planner it will stay on your planner until you delete it.

Re: Problem with 24 on HD & Lost 20/05/07

There are numerous threads about this on here and Digital Spy since Anytime started.

In fact this must be the sixth or seventh time I have posted this same message and it is very sad that Sky are taking zero notice of all the problems they are creating.

Some people are lucky. Others are getting this every week berween 9 and 11 on Sunday. Others still just now and then. It happens if you record 24 and Lost back to back AND try to watch one from the planner on catch up. Sky choose to download Lost from Anytime simultaneous with the live transmission - so if you record it as normal and the Anytime recording is using the second tuner the third recording you make (especially if you have a buffer so there are side by side recordings for a few minutes) might trigger issues.

Anytime is supposed to let your recordings have priority but this is seemingly not always happening.

The only ways around are to disable Anytime or not have any buffer between recordings or not watch anything from the planner until some minutes after 11.00 when the recordings are done any Anytime (if still enabled) should have downloaded its Lost version.

Do these things or just one of them anbd you ought not to have the problem. Otherwise the danger will be there again next Sunday.

Why Sky cannot download Lost at any other time given that thread after thread has been making clear this is causing mayhem...well you tell me.

Although I wonder how many have actually reported to Sky that this is happening with alarming predictability since Anytime began during this Sunday night window?

Possibly that is all that it takes.
