Sky HD Subscribers now subsidising Sky+

Now that Sky have decided to make Sky+ available for free to all subscribers with no minimum premium channels, when are they going to move the HD subscription to the same conditions as Sky+ was?

Surely paying for a full package should get you HD for free, and the £10 should be charged for those that want the basics.

There's been very little proper HD news of late (I don't count anytime). About time we got some payback!

I have always found it hard to believe people who don't have sport or movies would bother with HD. As a proportion of the monthly charge for non-premium packages, £10 is high for what you get.

Personally I'd love the £10 charge to be dropped for premium subscribers (or maybe for World package) but I doubt it will happen. More likely as a first step would the dropping of the £10 for multiroom subs i.e. only one £10 a month charge not 2.

I agree.

Sky should drop off the SKY HD subscription thus saving HD owners £10 a month.
Sky should charge a total of £10 for multiroom no matter how many boxes you hook up.
I have an octo lnb so max i can have is either 4x HD /SKy+ boxes or 8 Standard sky boxes.

The reason this is handy is for my kids as they are free to watch their kids programmes anytime/record when they want and give them their personal freedom growing up.

It costs Sky £0 to offer/provide the multiroom service as its the same satellite signal going through the LNB but they charge a premium because they know they can.

I do hope virgin give them some real competition because thats the sort of thing that invokes price wars and better service quality.

However i am happy with the Sky phone and Internet package from them as long as they dont up the prices and i will jump ship!
