I'm thinking of getting Sky HD installed, but I would need a cable of approximately 3 or 4 metres in length, because of where the box would be situated, and my tv is on the wall. I'm guessing that Sky will only provide maybe a 1 metre cable as standard, so anybody know how much extra would it be likely to cost me? I suppose this is something I should make them aware of when booking my installation, or will the engineer have longer cables in his van? I imagine they do a lot of installs that aren't just a tv on a stand, with all the equipment directly underneath it?

just got mine installed on Saturday and the cable is indeed a metre, the cable is actually in the box with all of the other equipment. I would ring the instalation team and check they have leads of various lengths

I'd go and get one yourself prior to the install and have it ready for them just to plug the box into. Better safe than sorry.
