Hi all...

...I wanna tell you a story...

I went into my local Currys shop, to purchase a Dyson vacuum cleaner, and I thought I'd ask about the Sky HD offer they had, trading the TV they want you to buy, for the Dyson. Having read some stuff on this (excellent) forum, about some of the stores allowing people to purchase anything, I thought I'd give it a try...nothing to lose!

Anyway, the one guy I spoke to said definately not...had to be a TV over £169. I said I don't want a TV, but surely spending £200 on the Dyson should count?

I told him to ask the manager, which he did, and came back and said this offer had finished (!!?!?). I then said let me speak to him, so off he trots. I eventually get to speak to the manager, and he said no problem, come to the Customer Service desk with him, and he'll sort it!!...

When he spoke to the guy behind the desk, the guy started arguing with the manager, saying he couldn't/wouldn't do it... the manager told him in no uncertain terms to do as he was told and put it through.

The result was that I'm getting Sky HD installed this Friday for half price...result!

Just show you have to persevere sometimes, to get what you want...

I'm very pleased for anyone who get's Sky HD at half price regardless of whether they bought a new TV, a Dyson, a pack of batteries or with nothing at all!

But do we have to have a new half price thread every day? Couldn't they all go in one place like the football threads?

Even better than that, when the Sky man has been and installed HD for you, he'll hoover up for you too. If you ask him nicely anyway ....

so how much did it cost then?? £150??

yeah...plus £60 installation, which i would have had to have paid anyway i guess.
