Fair enough, I respect that, but something seems to be wrong if Scots can find nothing better to do than bad mouth England all the time and support whoever they play.

Its like an obsession or something, personally I would give Scotland my full support if they made it further in the World Cup than England.

The bad mouthing from a lot of my fellow scots is largely i think due to this.......

Imagine living in England, lets say.. northhapton. BBC and ITV CH4 etc are all based in Scotland. You watch internationals and its scottish coverage. They talk about scotland even when costa rica are playing spain or whoever... at half time we go to hampden to get the latest on the scotland job... Commentators say things like "lets all get behind the team" (Scotland remember) "you have permission to start breathing again" after a near miss "tale the rest of the day off"... after a while it would really get on your nerves after a while... I'm not english but the Tv that i recieve assumes i am. I know a few english guys here in edinburgh who have been here for a while and now see what we mean.

So again, English? yeah i love you guys, no really i have relatives in Northhampton but the coverage we get is a nightmare.... does that make sense guys?

A mate blamed it on the TV too(he is a Scot), so there is no doubt something to it, but i said blame the TV commentators, its them thats annoying you not the English team or English fans, ah you know what I mean.

I say this would it not be better too put as much effort in to getting Scottish presenters, good Scottish coverage, as you do too supporting whoever is playing the English team

Spot on to be fair, BBC Scotland could have their own coverage, much better, but its the media that over a number of years changes how we support. As a kid i always supported scotland, England or whoever from the UK. I knew the players from MOTD so when Gazza stuck out his toe in 1990 I was like OOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhh, like you guys... but over the years the media have pee'd us off. I pay the lisense Fee but i watch Footbal focus , nearly an hour of English football and at the end...."oh and Hearts play celtic today at 3pm" "Mark Lawrenson, prediction"? says Lineker....... Reply from Mark.... "sorry who?" and thats all we have time for!..... jeez.

anyway...at the deep darkest corner of my mind.... and after the guts of today..... good luck to you

(pokes the fire) - Must have been good watching england lose on penalties in HD. John Terry's tears would have been just about landing on your carpet.
