Question Bbc Hd

Does anybody know if the interactive services are available on BBC HD?

Sorry if the question has been asked elsewhere but I'm still in work and don't have chance to search .

Thanks.

At the moment, no.

BBC say that they will be testing interactive features during the trial.

remember that the BBC keep saying that it is a "trial"

That word suggests to me that they are just testing the technology to see what they can achieve.

There is no guarantee that the BBC HD channel is with us for good.

No guarantee at all - and the BBC couldn't give you a guarantee that it would be. The government has to approve all new BBC services - so a full HD service would be subject to the new market testing requirements that have been introduced - though trials are different...

Stephen, is there a limit to how long trials can last?

Not sure. I think the terrestrial service has a fixed duration licence with Ofcom (6 months or 12 months I think). Not sure about the digital satellite service.

Many people are questioning if the Beeb will try to extend the DSat trial - so that the HD service continues until it is formally approved. I have no idea.
