rang cancellations - still no go on the 1TB box - in fact more expensive - wanted to add £35 for self install. Still no response from SKY complaints.

That's your problem...you don't have an ageing Thompson box...I'm sure you can actually upgrade to HD for free as Sky now give HD boxes away as the old Sky+ boxes are now obsolete.

In all fairness, this £149 offer is for existing Sky HD subscribers so I'm really not surprised you've gotten nowhere...

yeah I can get HD for free but seems a bit rich to offer £100 off a 1TB HD box for someone who has a 3 year old box, but not someone who has a 10 year old box and has been paying SkyWorld for 15+ years. Anyway will continue my moan and see where it gets me.

I think you're missing the point - you're not an HD customer - which means that whilst you have been paying Sky World for the last 10 years as you say, you haven't been paying the £10 a month for the privelage of watching HD channels - good luck with your "moan"...

I am a HD subscriber, I do have the old Thomson box (With component outputs on it) and they still wont offer me this £149 deal regardless of trying countless times..

I was watching UK Sea Patrol on Sky anytime last night and it must have froze/pixelated every couple of minutes

I wrote a letter to complaints about not being offered this, you know the thing, long term customer, paid full price on day 1, bad box that breaks all the time, never get offered these cut price deals, have waited patiently for an offer I do qualify for, never cheated and signed up under another name, finally an offer I do qualify for but still get ignored by sky etc etc etc. They rang me back and offered me the deal.

I called them twice in the last week, to be told no offers were available.

I took a different tact today, i called & said i only received the offer in the post today, and i would be very disappointed if i'd missed out. After the operative spoke to a supervisor, was given the green light!

Ordered at £149, being delivered this weekend

Still no box and now found out tonight it's been stuck 'in processing' since 22nd July. Awaiting a call tomorrow from Sky to sort things out. Anybody else had any delays?

Which courier are sky using? UPS attempted delivery of something today, but it might be a replacement PCB from Canton.

Well I phoned Sky, the first time being put on hold for 10 minutes then I hung up. Phoned again, and I was told that the box was in "packing" and they didn't have a clue "when it would ship". I was originally promised it would be delivered on 27th July.

Absymal service.

Thumbs down

I was on the phone for ages last night trying to get this offer @ £149 and I was just given the run around. They denied that there is such an offer and wouldn't budge. I have been a sky subscriber since the very early days of analogue back in the late 80's, early 90's and a sky HD subscriber for 3 years!
I went through cancellation procedure and have received an email from them confirming that my subscription will end at the end of August 2010.

Ironically the email says "So if there's anything we can do to change your mind, please call us."
I currently have a refurbished Pace HD box which replaced a failed Thomson box some years back, but this one is now going the same way. Failed recordings, bad pixellation which ruins the whole viewing experience, the hard drive fills up so quickly that I end up deleting them before they are watched ....... and I am paying them £50 a month.

Obviously I am not one of their valued customers, but looking on the bright side I will save £50 a month.
I have a motorised dish and a Technomate HD receiver so I wont have entirely black screens.
But I am wholly disappointed with the whole sky "experience" and their customer services seem to be second to everyone!

All I wanted was £100 off a box which many others have clearly had, instead of which they prefer to lose £600 a year in subs .....business must be booming!

You struck unlucky with a bad agent.
When the one I got saw I'd been with them as long as you had he put through the £149 deal in a couple of minutes.

After a few calls to sky regarding this, my box is still 'in processing'. They are unable to give me an explanation as to why it remains in that state or any delivery time scale. Has anybody else encountered this? My box was ordered on 22nd July.

I ordered mine on Thursday and was given 2nd August as my delivery date - kept checking my sky and no change, then tried it via sky active and is said "status - CL"

Phoned sky and spoke to a superviser who advised me boxes are held in a queue and the orders are sent to the warehouse every Sunday and then dispatched on the Monday.

Amstrad 1TB just decided not to turn on, red stby light on, but wont go greenSky "engineer" coming on Wednesday, probably to replace box (They said it would be a new one)

Have tried the off at the mains trick, waited half hour, but still no luck.
Held back up button, no use.

Anyone else?

Just a word to the wise.

The sky person told me that I would get a new box because I was within the 90 day period. She also said that outside of this, I would have got a refurb box

EDIT; Just came back on, but with blue screen and sound from BBC1 even though sky 1 selected !
