Half price Sky offer

Morning all,

Was just wondering if any other recently ex Sky customers had also been contacted recently for half price Sky?

I cancelled my contract in september when my last half price deal ended, and they called me on Sat to offer me another 12 months half price, with no contractual tie in.

I took them up on the deal, but was just surprised at the timing, usually they only offer 6 months half price and usually at a time that coincides with the quiet summer sky sports period i.e in Apr/Mar.

Isnt the lead up to Xmas a peak time for new Sky customers?

Anyway, im very pleased at £31 for the full/HD package.

You are extremely lucky! - in other forums people have been moaning about Sky offering 6 month deals but with a 12 month tie-in (last 6 months at full price)

Not that I agree with Sky offering these deals at all

Interesting, I may call them to see if they can offer me any deals to return,

I have just signed up to a 12 month deal yesterday but may see what they can offer me to use my existing equipment

Just called them up and they have nothing to offer me

I must say I am very surprised. considering I have no need for a new sky + box (I have a HD box) or installation (Both cables are wired up) so surely they have the oppurtunity here to save themselves some money

You can allways sell your old stuff I guess, helps pay for the subs.

Yeah think I may do that instead, sell the kit for beer money

Also as the cableing does not need doing, I may get the engineer to run a cable to my media centre (Has a DSAT Card) and would be handy if he could run an additional cable from the living room along the run of sky cables into the loft so I can finally use my freeview aerial on my TV ( I would do the joining with an adaptor myself)

Heres hoping the engineer is a useful one

To be honest I was surprised when they called, I only cancelled my contract a couple of months ago!

Im not a cheapskate by the way, I just cant afford £60 odd quid a month, and only really watch the footie/films etc, so dont see downgrading as an option.

Just to add though, I have had Sky for 2.5 years out of the past 3ish and have never payed more than half price. Im not boasting or anything, just maybe I'm on a list of people that they know will only pay up to 50% as I always get a call back offering me the same half price deal.

EDIT - Puuuurfect timing for Arsenal - Chelsea on the weekend too!!

Sorry to re promote my own thread, but I actually got some marketing bumph from SKY on this half price offer, so it is def official.

You have to have left and be coming back, but it seems a good deal if anyone is thinking about it.

I cant find anything online about it, but will take a pic of the flyer I got if anyone is interested?

Presumably this deal won't include anything to do with installation or setup?

I got that flyer too. Does anyone know if I can use that and upgrade to Sky HD at the same time? Has anyone tried to do that?

i just contacted them about my bill, and the very nice man said 'i notice you don't have sport or movies'.......'well you can have both for £12.50/mth for 2 months, to make ur xmas a happier one'!!
i bit his hand off as i have spoken to them on the last 2 days asking for deals/special offers and was told there arn't any as its the xmas season and they don't do offers now!!
i was seriously thinking about adding movies, for xmas, at full price, but glad i never.

Just to clarify, is 12 months half price the best they offer?

I have had letters every month since cancelling last year, each time with an increasingly better offer. 12 months half price is the latest. So £35/month for the full package with HD, Sports and Movies.

Therage79: Are you sure it was £31?

You are quoting a thread that is over a year old. Prices have gone up since then.

And the current price for SkyWorld is £61, so I guess that £35 includes ESPN.

HD isn't included in the half price offer, so it's 50% off the £51 (£25.50) + £10 for HD.

Used properly have to use their name but could give your own bank details after your mate agrees to it.
