Re-Joining sky, how long to downgrade?

OK today I am probably going to rejoin sky mainly for the kids TV to keep em quiet, not too fussed about Sports or movies to be honest but HD tv will be a bonus considering I have a HDTV

Now am I able to join up take movies & HD initially but downgrade my package say month 2 of the contract?

I imagine they still increase subs during contract so I should technically be able to do this and gain a free hd box with no install fee and £100 cashback from quidco.

Also I have a spare sky + & HD box so would be looking to sell on the classifieds here. Is there much call for them?

You can certainly downgrade Movies after having had them for one month. HD is normally a 12 months contract - but, if you are rejoining after having had it for this time, it should also be on a monthly contract.

Looking at eBay is a good guide to prices - lots there!

If you are taking the free HD box (through subscribing to Sky HD and Sky Movies) then you will have to keep both those for a minimum 12 months. If you aren't prepared to commit to Sky movies for 12 months, don't take the free offer.

this is what I am trying to figure out. Yeah that is the offer I am considering, just wondering if the contract dictates I have to stay on movies for 12 months

yes you do

use your existing sky hd box and get reconnected then you can do things by the month and have no contract to tie you down

Re: Re-Joining sky, how long to downgrade?

Ok bit the bullet and ordered sky only interested in the mixes and not the variety pack!!

Bloke at sky said he couldn't activate package now or was at least unwilling to!!

Award-Showcase
What do you mean by "mixes", and what about the other five "packs"?

Re: Re-Joining sky, how long to downgrade?

Oh sorry it's not clear.

I will not have movies or sports. Not interested and I have selected 5 mixes leaving out variety.

I'm just having second thoughts re the whole contract thing though.

Can I like someone mentioned above re-subscribe with no contract using my existing equipment??
