I wish to use the REMOTE RECORD feature from PC as the weekly guide has a nice 'search' feature I can search for films and just set to record from there...

DOES THIS COST MONEY TO DO FROM PC?

and

DOES THIS REQUIRE THE PHONE LINE CONNECTED ALL THE TIME?

the activation requires the phone line to be connected (freephone number) but AFTER that does it?

No it does not cost money, and no the phone line does not have to be connected. Gets the data down the satellite stream.

There is also a great iphone/itouch application from sky that has a full tv guide and you can click and you box will receive the instructions to record.
