Is Sky Broadband any good? I am currently with Bulldog

The recent Sky deal of TV, Broadband and Phone for around £50 a month has got me interested.

The only problem is the Broadband.

I currently use Bulldog and its great. Fast, clean, works all the time. But its £30 a month for the 8mb packagage including phoneline. I can get Broadband FREE with Sky (or for £10 if I wish to pay for more bandwidth) as I am getting a TV package with them soon. It makes sence.

So I canned by Bulldog, it gets cut off in a month!

Question is: Is Sky Broadband any good? I want/need at least 8mb down and at the very least 1mb up (for gaming).

All the reviews I have found have been VERY mixed, I trust you guys will know best

Re: Is Sky Broadband any good? I am currently with Bulldog

hi there has been a some problems for some people on the sign up. did you check you can get sky broadband before you cancelled bulldog??
sky are rolling out the broadband and not everywhere can get it just now.
if your exchange is Easynet enabled then you should be able to get Max package.
i am up and running but did go 4 days without broadband as there was a problem with the sky router being sent to me.
sky did sort it and have given me a credit on my account for the delay so not too bad. my only other gripe so far is i am on max 16mb package but can only get about 5-6mb service as i my line must run all over the place before getting to me. I am not too far from my exchange but line must be pretty long. not sky's fault but very frustrating.

as for upload it is 768 or thereabouts so should be ok for gaming. i haven't had any problems so far and no disconnects although i think some people with poor lines have been having issues.

another big issue which hasn't affected me is the tech support isn't great at the moment. i think some of the tech staff don't actually have any experience in this area and work off sheets with possible solutions and by asking supervisors.

considering it is free on some packages and only £10 a month for max package it seems a good deal just now but only time will tell.
head over to skyuser.co.uk and have a read over there before you commit.
