i have been told that there is a great japanese rythm game, and one called advance wars, but i really dunno what game to buy next. i like a varity of games really.

Hi,

All I can recommend is Sega Casino from GAME at £10, but it's only good if you want to learn to play games like Texas HoldEm. If you don't want to practice that to play for money somewhere else its a bit dull.

I have ordered Advance Wars Dual Strike from ebay and will post to let you know what it's like in a few days.

The reviews say its great, but that does not mean it will appeal to all. Its a turn based strategy game i think.

Under the KNife and Castlevania are both highly rated, but I have not played as they are expensive even on ebay atm.

PS - don't blame the poor wife simply because you enjoy the odd kiddies game :rotfl: :D

Metroid Prime Hunters and Metroid Pinball.

Why on earth is New Super Mario Bros. not on any of your lists?!? :smashin: (unless that is Mario DS?)

Mario and Luigi Partners in Time is also great.

I would recommend "under the knife" and "advance wars dual strike" The latter is a turn based strategy game that im not normally a fan of but it is sooo addictive and deffo one of the best games for the DS imo. :smashin:

Another thumbs up for Advance Wars Dual Strike. I don't normally play strategy games but this one is great.

I have had my DSL for 10 days now and i already have New Mario, Tetris, Bomberman (wish it was wifi), Brain Training and mario kart. I have on order BBA and metroid. Games i fancy are animal crossing, under the knife and after reading this dual strike. Me and the missus are loving the DS - its fantastic, best handheld ive ever played - hands down

4-player Bomberman on the basic level is one of the simplest and greatest games ever! They have to bring out a wi-fi version!!

:lease:

damn, found out...lol. might try woolworths later and see what bargains i can pick up there...

Princess Peach is another to add to the list.

Brilliant game, I'm forever pinching my brothers DS to play it :)

What is Nanostray like? Just picked it up from the Woolies 2 for £26 deal as it was probably the best of the rest that were available after Tetris (and the ones I had not already got)......think I have heard good things about it but know nothing?

that would be Ouendan, its good fun, good use of the touch screen, I think theres a european version coming out soon but I would still get the original, part of the appeal of the game is the japanese language and songs, it just suits the whole style of it and it is very easy to follow. The songs are very catchy and they will stick in your head, ive even had to copy the soundtrack for a couple of the lads at work so they can freak out their mates in their cars!

Very pretty. Competent shoot 'em up. Quite tricky, especially if you try and follow all the tricks to get max scores. Pick up and play for a while rather than long term. Worth £13 but perhaps not a lot more.

I've heard the comics are in japenese isn't it hard/strange to follow?

If you fancy a bit of strategy, you should probably add Age of Empires to your list. I've been meaning to buy that for ages, just haven't got around to it yet. Had some fantastic reviews & it's only £16.99 delivered from Movietyme.

Zoo Keeper & Meteos are both fantastic puzzlers!

dark shadow, not really mate because the basis of the stories are very simple. eg. it starts with some lad who cannot concentrate on his homework because his family are making a noise, then the cheerleading squad truns up to gee him up, you then do the game bit, if all goes well he gets the grade, if not he fails. The pictures really do tell the story. Its like on another one where this girl is tryin to inpress this guy, if you play well she makes him a coffee and he notices her, if you mess up she spills it everywhere. also the drawings are very expressive in an exaggerated manga style so its easy to tell whose happy and whose angry. if your interested have a look on ign, im pretty sure they had a few quick videos of the game as examples.

Metroid
Trauma Centre
Castlevania

Worth getting viewtiful joe and bomberman if you can find them on deal - they are about £12 each.

I've had that on pre-order with Amazon (the UK release) for two months now, just slipped from August to September! Frustrating when it's been available in the US for a few months now.
