All the prices have gone up again

i wish they would just keep the prices the same for once. that would stop all this continuious checking to see if the price has gone down and when the prices suddenly all drop stop us all from trying to cancel our orders and reorder causing the website to crash.

keeping the prices the same would lead to many more satisfied customers and varstly cut down on all the moaning done about them.

their prices are still the cheapest even if they stayed the same

I ordered Friends season 6 on Tuesday morning while the price was down at 29.16. When the status went to On Order I feared the worst, but it was shipped on the Thursday and arrived on Saturday.

A 4-disc set for under £12, arriving four days after ordering. I find it very difficult to dislike these people.

Hello Alan

You lucky lucky man !!! ;) I ordered The Incredibles on 17 Mar and have yet to receive it  Then ignoring the saying 'Once bitten twice shy' ordered the Godfather 25th Anni set for £13.00 (thanks Gorshin for link) I convinced myself it was too good to miss :smashin: but the order status has been 'On Order' since 12 May !! Just my luck.......

regards
Shane

Just how high are their prices at the moment??????? We should not buy anything so they get the message. However, when (if?) the prices go down again I bet the site crashes again like last time

I don't know if their prices have fallen, but their site seems to be experiencing problems again, which I generally take to be a good sign of falling prices.

This did amuse me though (don't think this has been posted already) they have a news flash.......

DVDSoom.com: Awarded "Best Canadian Web DVD Retailer" at the Canadian Entertainment Network Awards.

I know they've commented on the award before, but now they can't even spell their own name right :)

Here's hoping for lower prices,

John

i've had stuff "on order" from them since april the 14th!

They are crap at replying to emails as well which is a joke, and when they do it is the same old stock reply of "we aim to ship within 2-4 weeks" when i mentioned it had been 5 they said they would look into it, but every other email i've sent them has just met with them emailing me an order update again.

What a bunch of clowns! Stay away! :thumbsdow:

If you want to pay £5+ more per dvd then, sure, stay away :hiya:

its more like $4 canadian more, and you get the stuff within the same year. sounds like a good compromise to me!

Maybe someone in this thread could help me.
I'm about to order 6 or 7 items from them, totalling about CAD$130. Should I order them in three separate orders to avoid customs charges, or does the fact that each item is less than £18 mean I won't incur customs?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

You should check out the sticky in this forum re customs charges for more info (see http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128914).

If the goods were to be sent together in one package then you would be liable for customs charges. However, DVDSoon will ship separately as and when items come into stock so you would probably be ok ordering in a single order.

That said, since p+p is free you might as well order them as separate orders - that way you're guaranteed to avoid the customs charges and should the price drop on any individual item it's easier to cancel the entire order and re-order at the lower price.

Hope that helps,

John

Have to say I am very disappointed with their new high price policy - I used to pick up several titles each week but right now the prices are so high that DVD Soon offer no advantage over any other e-retailer. :(

Really annoying as I had several items all ready to purchase and then - overnight and with no warning - they all increased in price by 10-15%.

I'll check back now and then but for now it's the end of a beautiful relationship with these guys. :thumbsdow

what is the delivery time on "standard free delivery"?

At last DVD Soon have shipped my Hell Boy UMD, House of Flying Daggers UMD and Wipe Out Pure, Clones Wars DVD - showing as shipped - tried to track on Canadia Post website but it just says the goods are sat in Canada, when can I expect delivery?

I am not complaining of the waiting as I got:

HoFD (UMD), Wipe Out Pure (UMD), Blade Runner (I know its a poor DVD but just cant' wait for a decent release), Ewok Adventures ( ) and years member ship for £50.

i ordered back in april the total recall tin , the status is now packaging although the item has been discontinued

will i be able to get a refund or credit as i cannot cancel the order

Even though the goods have shipped I am still waiting :boring: - I guess my fault for using free shipping :suicide:

I am also unable to track the Canadian Post

What has happened to individual season TV box sets?

I was looking for season 6 of Cheers & Frasier, but typing those into the search returns only the multi-season packages - no sign of the individual seasons. "Friends" only returns seasons 1-5 individually, clicking on 'More Results' adds 6 & 7, but no sign of 8 & 9.

Have they axed these from their listings? If so, then there will be no more sales from me.

Panic over - the individual seasons are still there, but it seems that you can only find them via "Powersearch" now! Most people, however, will use the normal search button as a matter of course, so what's the point in returning a uselessly cut down list from this button? It's not exactly going to attract new users.

The issue with Dvdsoon is not the delivery time but the despatch time, I first used them just oevr a year ago and was really impressed by the prices and overall delivery time was nto to bad but the level of service has plumeted, order a film listed in stock or 48-72 hours find it is listed un oyour account as on order and wait indefinatly for them to get a copy. I have cancelled so many orders that just showed no signs of every coming.

Once again what looked like a good deal the new Casino special edition for £18 but that was 10 days ago and it is still pending "in transit", from where?

Don't think I can be bother again, just compare i had an order at Amazon which did not get despatched on time sent them an email 2 days after it should have been sent, reply the next day apologising spliting my order into seperate deliverys for free and offering a £5 discount voucher. If price is that important then cd-wow usually are not to far from dvdsoon.

I have got a couple of items showing in packaging how long will it be before these are shipped usually?

Anyone's guess mate! :(

I signed up for the iFidelity card on June 20th and even today my account is still locked. Below is ONE of numerous emails to their staff... a certain Eric Saindon:
Hi Eric,
I don't know what's going on at dvdsoon. First, you sent me a mail saying my account was already unlocked. Then when I tried to purchase some dvds, it says that my account was locked while I was trying to check out. After that I got another mail asking for my credit card statement AGAIN for verification (which I dutifully sent, again), and just now when I tried to log in to my account at dvdsoon, it seems that my account is not even there anymore!! I tried using the password recovery feature (in case I've forgotten my password) using my id, my email and then both my id and email but the system says there's no account by that name. I even checked the mail that dvdsoon sent me when I first registered... I had correctly entered my id AND password.
Is this the kinda "procedures" I have to go through every time I make an order and is this the standard of service that "best Canadian web DVD retailer" provides? I really hope that I'm wrong about all this and it's all an isolated incident. Please reply as soon as you can.

typical email response time usually takes about a week? i have no idea that the "best Canadian web DVD retailer" provides this kinda service. In fact I'm gonna send a mail to Canadian Entertainment Network and ask them how the hell dvdsoon manage to clinch the award. sounds like a pretty hollow award to me! What a joke of an award... wonder what dvdsoon did to get their hands on it

dvdsoon just cancelled 2 of my pending orders!!!
can they do that or is this some kind of sneaky tactic to make you reorder at a rediculous price

at the time of purchasing the 2 dvds they were both $11 (currently $23)
