yellow circle on black screen

I've got a Hitachi PJTX100 and when it is projecting a relatively black screen it has a small circle that is lighter and has a slight yellowish tinge to it.
When projecting at about 2 meters across the light circle is just left of centre and about 10cm in diameter.

Anyone any ideas what might cause this ?

Any help appreciated

Andrew

I agree, sounds like a dust blob. You may be able to remove it by removing the dust filter on the side of the unit, and blowing compressed air over the panels. If you do a search on this forum, you will find more detailed instructions.

In order to verify it is dust, do the following:
1) Change the iris settings - the circle should grow or shrink with the iris.
2) completely defocus - in one end of the range it will appear as a dust particle

Shalll try all those suggestions tonight when dark.

Many thanks for suggestions

Twas true.... a dust blob.
Enemy is identified at least so shall now try the spray duster to remove it.

Thanks for all the help esp. the advice regarding the iris shutdown and the defocusing of the image to see if it was dust.
