If you mean the What Hi Fi show, its at the Excel centre this year. £20 on the door and not a great turn out BTW.

Re: sound and vision show 2008 in hammersmith

Excel Exibition Centre is located in Docklands. The Hammersmith venue was really too small and cramped with limited facilities. I've not been for the last two years, but was looking forward to the new venue. Having seen the list of companies attending (or lack thereof) and the £20 entrance fee, I for one will not be going!

£20 is too steep a price rise . I think it'll really impact on the number of visitors. I'm thinking of not bothering going this year coz of this hike.

Re: sound and vision show 2008 in hammersmith

Anyone interested in going, but is put off by the £20 entrance fee, why not take out a sub for What Hifi magazine. A tenner for three issued and two free tickets for the show. Just cancel it before the next due date.

I'm already a subscriber.

There is a distinct lack of manufactorers listed for this year's show.

No Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic etc

Think it was about £6 each last year. You can print up a half price admission ticket here:- http://www.practicalhi-fi.net/halfpriceshowcard.pdf

I am going to try and make it, looks like a reasonable turn out from the website!

Mate of mine bought some kit from Practical Hi Fi Bolton so we picked up a few from them! Usually go Sun afternoon as you can pick up some bargains towards the end. Picked up a £250 hi fi stand last year for £100 as they couldnt be bothered to dismantle it and take it back to the shop!!

Yep! Thats the one!

Only trouble is I paid for it at closing went out to get my car and security would not let me back in

Managed to attract one of the exibitors who kindly took me back to the room as it could have gone pearshaped as I paid cash. Also picked up a free Dali test CD which they were selling for £12.99 earlier - not a bad CD either!

Takes some bottle to do that! I bet loads of gear goes missing at these shows! I am looking for some cheapish small rears in gloss black for my set up so hopefully there will be some bargains around at the death! Fingers crossed anyway and I dont need the car this time..................

Re: sound and vision show 2008 in hammersmith

For anyone thinking of going but also agrees £20 is a little steep.
I found a link to discount code that definitely works when booking directly through stufflive.co.uk.

Enter "SUB" in the promotion code box on the and you'll get tickets for £15.
