HD at Sound and Vision Bristol

I've just come back from Sound and Vision Bristol, I only had time for a quick dash around (so missed lots) but was generally disappointed by the lack of HD video (maybe I wasn't trying hard enough)

No stand for Toshiba - though What HiFi were comparing a midrange 2003 system (Pioneer DVD source) with a midrange 2007 system (Toshiba E1).

Pioneer had a Blu-Ray player (US BDP-HD1), the best I could get out of them for a UK release was 'something, sometime in the summer'

No Sony, Samsung or Panasonic.

Meridian outstanding as usual, but really pushing SD DVD as source ('cause everything you want is available on DVD....')

Re: HD at Sound and Vision Bristol

I attended with a couple of mates and we were also disappointed at the lack of HD material. Considering it is the big thing of the moment I really did have higher expectations.

maybe because on the scale of international events Bristol is seen as a second/third rate show?[/FONT]

What Hi Fi Mag demo - worse I've seen in four years.

Kef demo - worse I've seen in four years.

Denon demo - best I've seen in four years.

Sim 2 demo - best I've seen since last year.

Rest of show - great, I enjoyed it.
