Following our very successful NAIM / Dynaudio musical evening last week where we showcased the Dynaudio Evidence Temptations with the Naim CD555 CD player, NAC552 pre-amp and NAP500 power amplifier (and a very nice system it was too) along with 3 other rooms of varying priced systems, we will be hosting another 2 musical evenings. A Cyrus / Spendor evening will be held this coming Wednesday, the 22nd, starting at 6:30pm. All are welcome.

There will be four systems altogether. We start with a pair of S6e's driven by a Cyrus 8Vs2 amplifier and CD8x. In another room we will have the S8e's driven by a CD8x, Pre Vs2 and X-Power power amplifier. Our main room will consist of a pair of the amazing S9e's driven by four Cyrus monoblocks, DAC-XP and CD-XT, both with PSX-R's. On the ground floor we will have the Discmaster 8.0 DVD player (hopefully) feeding the AV Master 8.0 processor with 6 and 8 power amplifiers driving S5e's on the front and S3e's at the back with the C5e centre channel. The new DAB 8.0 DAB tuner will also be showcased.

A buffet will be provided with champagne, wine, orange juice etc.

There will also be a prize draw on the evening for a new Cyrus DAB 8.0 tuner, plus there will be technical help provided for visitors by staff and representatives from Cyrus. There will be incentives for any orders/purchases on the night.


Further to this, we will be holding an Arcam / Kef / Fujitsu evening on Wednesday 29th November, again starting at 6:30pm.

Full details are yet to be confirmed, but Arcam will be showing their new Solo AV system with the KHT5005 setup. The FMJ DV139/AV9/P7 will be pairing up with the Kef KHT9000's, plus their new A70 amplifier and other Arcam electronics such as the Solo along with Kef's IQ range of loudspeakers. There will also be the new 'five two' loudspeakers from Kef providing 5.0 from 2 speakers.

There will also be an X-Box 360 running Hi-Def material and games through Fujitsu's 63" plasma, and for those sober enough to hold a joypad, there will be a new release DVD to win, including MI3, for the 10 fastest laps set on an as yet undisclosed driving game.........
A second competition in the form of a prize draw will see an Arcam Solo up for grabs!

As always there will be a buffet and drinks provided, and technical help will be on hand from staff as well as Arcam, Kef and Fujitsu representatives. Again, there will be purchasing incentives on the night as well.

Moved to shows and events.

Let me know how the kef and arcam combination sounds. I currently have kef IQ7's and an IQ6, and IQ3's for surrounds, with a velodyne spl-1000R. I am currently using a denon 4306 avr, but I am thinking about switching to an arcam avr 350 instead. I have been wondering if the kef/arcam combination might sound better than the kef/denon combination

My other consideration was to keep the denon, and switch over to a spendor setup, with a C5e, and a pair of S5e's and then eventually use S3e's for the surrounds.

Let me know the outcome of this event. I am very interested.

Kef loudspeakers have always been a good match for Arcam amplification, that's one of the reasons we chose Kef to accompany the Arcam electronics for our evening.

I'm sure if anyone from AVForums attends they can give their views of the combinations we will have on demonstration.

We would like to thank our regular customers and any AVF members who attended of our recent open evenings, especially for the Arcam/Kef/Fujitsu evening and helping it to be our most successful ever, with over twice the number of attendees than we have had previously!

We look forward to seeing you all again next year where we will change the format a little to keep things fresh. We will also run a Rega open evening in March sometime. More details nearer the time.

Good stuff, I like to meet with hifi retailers as opposed to our usual business to business type people, and it's nice to see that proper high street people are still out there - TBH though, I've only ever been in to try and buy stuff off the former online back room business when I found out their address, and to look at that lovely little board by the till full of classifieds

I just wanted to let you know that I upgraded my denon 4306 to an arcam avr 350. I am so glad that I didn't sell my kef's and I decided to try new electronics 1st. The sound is incredible, the arcam absolutly kills the 4306 with kef speakers anyway.

Before I couldn't even listen to my kef/denon setup it just annoyed me, now I am so happy and over joyed.
