Anyone bothering with the 'Heathrow' Hi-Fi Show now in Northants?

Since the middle of the nineties I have been to the annual hi-fi show held each September at Heathrow (plus the short time it moved to Hammersmith) every year and always looked forward to it.

First there was the long established 'Hi-Fi News' show which seemed to change it's name each year, then it gained a rival show across the road on the run by Chester Group.

The 'Hi-Fi News' show was then cancelled leaving just the Chester show. This year however, the Chester show has been moved to a stately home in Northants, basically the middle of nowhere.

Is anyone going to this new show? I certainly won't be as without personal transport, it would be very expensive to visit as it is not near a bus or coach station.

With the 'Hi-Fi News' show finished, the Chester show moved and the What Hi-Fi show now a mere shadow of it's former self, it seems sad that the capital no longer has any hi-fi/sound and vision shows (barring the poorly publicised Chester hi-end show held in April at Heathrow).

Re: Anyone bothering with the 'Heathrow' Hi-Fi Show now in Northants?

Having only found out the week before about the show, we thought we'd give it a go.
It wasn't until the night before looking on the map that i'd realised that it was next to silverstone, looking on their website it was British Superbikes, traffic caos was envisoned!
So go south under Northampton and attack from the side avoiding the A43, mistake N°1 the A605 from the A1 was shut Mistake N°2 was relying on the satnav which threw its hands in around Northampton
Anyway ended up on the A43 and it was empty, no traffic phew

On with the show:
  • Free parking
  • Easy access,
  • good sized rooms, not crammed in bedrooms
  • not too hot as windows were open and no outside noise
  • plenty to see and listen too,
  • not packed to the gills,
  • although the refreshments were borderline robbery
  • not in London
  • some nice gear, some out of the price range of mere mortals, but still a pleasure to look and listen,
I'm sure we'll be back.

Interesting to hear your opinion, but the location is still too far from a train or coach station for me to attend.
