Grundig goes bust

Don't know if other forum members noticed in the business section broadsheets, that Grundig have filed for bankruptcy this week. They had been in talks with the Turkish company Beko in the hope that they could be saved. However, Beko who already make t.v.'s for Grundig pulled out of the talks. It is rumoured that Beko might bid for the UK satellite operation which Grundig owns and possibly the Grundig brand name, although nothing has been decided yet.

Grundig handed over their Digibox production at Pontyclun to Thomson last year. So there's only the Grundig name left to sell.

The other thread is in General Chat, reference " tits up " rather than " bust " but same meaning ( in both senses ) .
