Beginner needs some spoon feeding to get started!

Noob spoon feeding requested below.

I am seriously considering getting myself a motorised dish and reciever so that i might get me some football from someone other than sky. I have been using the streamed variety but the time has come to get it from source. In addition to footy I would like to get any English HD channels that are available.

Can someone spare me the time to educate me as to what kit I would need to make this all happen. I have read many forum posts and have a vague idea about what's what, but it would be nice if someone with the skills could suggest a good set of kit - dish, box, cam etc to get me started.

I expect i will subscribe to digitalB but also to would like to get as many 'free' footy channels as possible.
