Yes - the BBC are doing a 3DTV HDTV experiment at the Rugby - with 3 pairs of Philips HD cameras being sent back via satellite.

No...

This wasn't the main HD broadcast - it was an experimental "3 camera" (actually 3 pairs of cameras) 3D production which was separately produced and downlinked as a trial.

Not sure if polarised glasses (where two projectors with differing polarisations are used for Left and Right eye images) or Dolby 3D (where the RGB values of the left and right eye images are slightly different and the glasses have very tight RGB filters in them to separate) were used. I suspect the former - though that has a problem with image separation if you tilt your head in some systems (linear polarised)

Active glasses (which are the most popular domestic format) are unlikely to be good for sport as they still rely on flickering alternate images, not simultaneous display.
