Missing Satellites!!

I have just set up a technomate 6900 and motorised satellite dish. I could not find a satellite so called out a satellite man!!!
He found me Astra2/eurobird, astra 1d3a and astra 1. I was happy to see these sats after all my struggling but now I am wondering why I can not get other preprogrammed satellites such as Thor and Hotbird?

Any ideas or will I not get all of the programmed ones.

Re: Missing Satellites!!

Maybe Mr Bush shot the wrong one down last week.

Sounds like its not setup correctly ,if the dish isn't following the arc of the satellites it might pick a few of the close grouped ones but as you move round it will be going off.
I'm sure one of the experts will give you a better answer as i'm only used to a fixed dish system.

Re: Missing Satellites!!

get the satellite man back & tell him to do the job correctly.

Depending on where you are in the country & the size of your dish, you can possibly pick up

Astra's, Eurobird, Hotbird, Thor, Sirus, eutelsat, turksat, hispasat

To see how a polar mount should be adjusted , look at the diagram near the bottom of this page :

Re: Missing Satellites!!

Gave in and got a professional. He remounted dish above roof eaves on a pole, realigned and tuned in to all preprogrammed sats on the 6900 box. £100 and loads a channels!!!

I connected a hard drive to the technomate but it is no Sky+. Had to give in and get minimum Sky package re instated. I can not believe how much the whole family takes Sky+ for granted and miss it when its gone!!!!!!!
