Does anyone here watch live football from any other source than sky or setanta
i do like watching a lot of european football to i also dont want to be watching football on a computer screen and going to the boozer is more expensive than sky better fun but more pricey

If you hunt around you can get European footie on a range of channels. Tbh I only got Setanta because NT.. oops, sorry, Virgin were giving it away. I watch most of the Sky games either down the pub or most often at a mates who lives two doors up. I gave up the Sky package years ago. Even with Setanta I can't be bothered watching most of the games - they're too poor.

Pop round and i'll show you my set up mate.

I know a good installer in Rushden also, bit of a weird one but not a bad price.

This is the sort of thing you'd want mate

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TECHNOMATE-150...QQcmdZViewItem
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TECHNOMATE-150...QQcmdZViewItem

Personally i weould go for motorised set up as there's loads that can be opened up also with patches.

Digitalb card would be about £150 for 12 months, will get most if not all chel$ki games on there, as they always show top 4.

Here for games shown is a good site,

http://liveonsat.com/foot_english_all.php

Digitalb normally list there's thursday evening.

Links above, it can be done cheaper, don't forget once you've paid for dish install all you need is a card each year..

Re: Footy on the box

Excuse me hijacking this thread but does any one know if its at all possible to get access to Freesat and certain sporting events such as tennis and rugby ( Guinness premiership and the Heineken cup) as is currently available in Sky sports 2, 3 extra and Eurosport)? I am quite satisfied with the football available on the terrestrial channels therefore am looking for a way of avoiding making subscription payments to either Sky or Virgin .I am happy to pay extra for those sporting events but dont wish to make payments to footballers or to Murdoch.
I would also require a PVR in one box and two standard ones for multiroom viewing. Thanks

Re: Footy on the box

Technomate do a HD box, but digitalb only do 2 HD channels at the moment, none for football as i know. Premeire do football HD but cards run into £800 a year in UK.
For HD football your best bet is Sky, saying that on premiere the picture quality if far better then sky and premiere can be opened for free at the moment.

Simon if you need any more help or places to buy drop me a PM mate.

Would look at buying motorised set up as some football can also be found on FTV channels out side uk, also premiere is great for F1 football and films, as well as the odd bit of porn.

No problem attaching 1 metre dish to a wall providing you use the correct mounts and the wall is struturally sound.

Re: Footy on the box

Can I also do a bit of hijacking ? I currently have a 1m dish with 3 fixed LNBs - Hotbird, German Astra and Sky. I have a Technomate 1500 receiver. What do I need to get some HD channels - will my current dish be OK with a new receiver ? Are there any FTA HD channels on Hotbird or Astra ?

Well, yes, but - I was looking at Lyngsat and all HD channels seem to be listed as encrypted. Is there anything on 13E and 19.2E (specifically, not Sky 28E) that can be viewed FTA with just a new HD receiver ? Would I need a CAM / card of some sort ?

http://www.lyngsat.com/hd/

Like i said Premiere HD can be opened on TM HD box.
The reason i haven't brought a HD box yet is that theres not a lot is available as in HD Channels and I'm waiting for a Linux one that has everything i want.
