What size of dish do I have? DOH!

I still have an old dish on the side of my house from the days of analogue Sky and I'm trying to determine what size it is without resorting to a ladder!

It's not the really old white one. It's the standard one that came after that (black, mesh-like, not quite transparent). Bigger than the current Sky mini dish.

Is it an 80cm or 60cm?

Thanks in advance.

From memory the dish you mention will more than likely be 60 cms but some 80 cm dishes were used the further north you were depending on the footprint.

Hmmm, so not as simple as I thought! I'm in Manchester if that helps. It's the same dish that everyone seemed to have round here.

Maybe I will have to get up that ladder after all!!

Assuming the worst (60cm) would this is big enough to receive Hotbird and Astra 1 (with a block thingy).

Thanks,

Thanks,
Should be fine, although your rain margin might suffer slightly on some Hotbird transponders.

In Manchester, a 60cm dish will lose the signal in heavy rain. (As I recall, that means most days in Manchester!)
