not sure if this is right place, or even allowed (though im sure its legal so should be ok)

im after getting hotbird/astra, as it offers better sport to watch.

all i know really is i would need a motorised dish.

so if anyone has any info on this or any links i would be extremely grateful

If you only want the 2 satellites Astra at 19.2'E and Hotbird at 13'E just buy a dual lnb that gets them both and the satellite box Humax etc knows the one to switch to when you change channels.
I have used this setup for 4 years now no problem at all.
Good mucky films aswell - ooh er did I just say that!
Dont confuse it with the Sky versions with 2 fplugs coming out you need the 2 lnb's with just 1 fplug output.

Just use a standard 80cm dish I got mine from Lidls for £11 a few years ago
A dual lnb should be no more than about £30 they have a 6 degree angle already so just fit it line it up with hotbird i think it was and then twist the mounting to get the astra or the other way round i can not remember.

yeah you can try either Lyngsat.org that will tell what channels are on what satellites or you can go to alsat.co.uk which is the best dedicated satellite forum on the web either 1 will help and can i recommend the technomate series as they are widely supported

Are there still 'mucky' channels available on analogue? Many years ago, I used to get Eurotica TV on Hot Bird. But most of 'em went digital.

I was actually looking through the lists of available channels from 19 and 13, the majority of free stuff do appear to be "Mucky" (god what a great word). Can people list some other non-mucky ones they'd watch on a regular basis ? say some sports channels in english ?

Old analogue satellite had some real hidden gems. I used to find quite a few free, and unscrambled 'mucky' channels by 'accident' while channel hopping. Now my old receiver (Amstrad SD520 I think) is propping up me DVD recorder

I may well have to dust it off after today's news.

I actually went to the Astra/Eutelsat websites and they give ya an excellent excel spreadsheet with all the channels you get. but sorting by free to air "mucky" ones deffo lead the charge . Of course If I was to stumble by these mucky wans , one would have to investigate further for research purposes of course.

Most if not all of the FTA mucky channels on Astra and Hotbird are of the "telephone the bird on the sofa" revenue type channels. The only genuine FTA channels of this type (mucky) are digital only and not on these two satellites - try Hispasat - only pay channels on Astra and Hotbird.

Thought it was too good to be true...There was one channel called Venus TV a few years ago that showed the real deal, real mckoy, nudge-nudge phwooarr!! , hard 'n' kinky stuff. It also showed adverts every 5 minutes......but a young boy like me didn't mind. I even invested in a D2 Mac decoder . They're really useful now Anyone interested in buying it?

Some satellite pop channels would get even more mucky than usual after midnight CET (or some other adult bedtime).
I only discovered this when I was bored one night and flicked round hoping for some adult music.
Human biology lessons don't interest me much.

Motorized dishes are too slow for my taste and subject to wind movement.
I'd much rather have a Gregorian dish like the Wave Frontier.

Basically no the Sky minidish is too small for two lnbs to work on satellites that far apart. Either install a second minidish for hotbird only or one larger (80cm) for both on one dish.
