Vbox ?

Hey

I'm planning on purchasing a vbox under the assumption that it moves my dish to different satallites. Is that correct? Will it tune me dish to various channels?

Thanks

Re: Vbox ?

You dont mention your dish, your type of motor either.

Re: Vbox ?

Generally the Vbox converts DiSEqC commands to the required 36 volts at a few amps required by an acutator.
As such it is just resposible for position - not tuning.

Re: Vbox ?

Have a look online at a WaveFrontier 90 with multiple LNBs while you are doing your pre-purchase homework.

My smaller WF T55 replaced an 80mm Nokia dish on a Nokia DiSEqC motor mount and hasn't given a moment's worry or lost signal in several years.

The incredibly slow satellite changes when changing channels with the Nokia nearly drove us up the wall.

Perhaps actuators are much quicker than DiSEqC motors but why bother unless you are looking for widely spaced satellites at extreme East and West positions and everything in between.

Motor driven dishes may seem sexy but how many satellites do you really need? You'll probably end up hitting the wall with the dish unless you use very long standoff brackets or a garden pole.

Re: Vbox ?

You will only need a v-box if you are buying a diseqc receiver that doesnt have a 36v output, and you plan on using a 36v motor to turn your dish.
Most people go for a diseqc motor as they are a cheaper option. In this scenario you dont need a v-box.
