Re: pace freeview hd box

Freeview is a terrestrial service (DVB-T) and the only DVB-T HD service is the BBC's experimental one from Crystal Palace.
However, a DS820 satellite receiver should pick up FTA (Free To Air) satellite transmissions including BBC HD at 28 degrees west.
With the right CAM and card, it will receive foreign transmissions if you motorise it and get a suitable dish and LNB.

Useful listing, Chris you might be being picky about the term "Freeview" since that was what as planned for satellite at some stage by the BBC and you sure that Sky don't use it as part of their suck them in and charge them high strategy.

No - $ky use the term Freesat.
Another link : http://www.lyngsat.com/hd/

On a motorised system (normally requiring a larger dish) if your house/garden layout is ok you could get satellites from 45ºE to 45ºW.

Re: pace freeview hd box

I don't have the word Sky in my vocabulary... OK stand corrected that Freesat is part of their suck them in, charge them high strategy, which they are about to implement on Freeview in true Sky style by pulling the plug on Sky free channels, as they tried to do on satellite with ITV. Never too sure why people defend them, except if you are paying over the odds for something you normally say that it's good.

I'm hoping for PVR HD satellite since, since my early days of having a dish I do watch programmes now rather than jump around from station to station. The 1.2 metre dish is 18 years old and still working well with the odd LNB make over, three motor arms etc.
