Humax HDCI 2000 (or something similar)

Hi

If I bought a Humax HDCI2000 or something similar ( any suggestions welcome ). Would I be able to run a like to one of the spare outputs on my Sky LBN and pick up all the freeview channels without another sky card etc.

Sorry if this is a daft question

Yes you would be able to pick up the Freesat channels (Freeview is digital terrestrial television)

Re: Humax HDCI 2000 (or something similar)

Don't forget that you'll only be able to pick up those that are 'Free to air', in other words not encrypted. Some channels that are on Freeview are encrypted on satellite and need a Sky card (and compatible slot for it) to view but are free otherwise. These are known as 'free to view'. Some others that are on Freeview are not free on satellite at all, only available as part of a Sky basic package.

Thanks guys

So I'm not correct in thinking as well as picking up free sat HD channels the Humax will receive non encripted SD channels such as BBC1 , ITV , CH4 etc.etc.

Thanks

Re: Humax HDCI 2000 (or something similar)

Ch4 ,Ch5 and sky 3 are encripted and can only be viewed with sky card in the right box.
I think the loss of these channels puts people of freesat, that a look at this LIST to see what you will and won't get ,you won't get anything marked FTV.

Re: Humax HDCI 2000 (or something similar)

Is it possible to 'daisy-chain' a Sky sat box with the Humax to get the FTV channels?

Cheers

They don't make it easy do they

It's easily seen why most people ( myself included ) just go on paying obscene amounts of money to sky It's just easy
