DiSEqC switch

I'm going to put another satellite dish up and i'm going to connect them with a DiSEqC switch,if i get a 4in 1 out switch (thinking of the future) would it be ok to only have 2 lnb's connected with 2 unconnected inputs or do i need a 2in1.
Thanks.

Re: DiSEqC switch

It's fine to have just two of the outlets of a 4-in & 1-out switch. Just make sure to keep the plastic or rubber blanking plugs over the unused sockets to prevent any water damage.

Re: DiSEqC switch

sorry to hijack but do either of you know if you can use a switch like this to connect:

Monoblock lnb + Sky lnb together to create one feed.

I have a monoblock lnb picking up 13+19 but want to have 28 on my box also, i have a seperate dish for that.

Will the swith still work because in theory it will be controlling another switch inside the monoblock lnb??

As nigelbb has said, yes a 4/1 will be fine, be sure to set them up as ( a ) and ( b) in your receiver menu, or possibly (1) and (2) depending on the make of your receiver.

Waterproofing of the spare connectors is essential.

Highly unlikely to work, however I havn't tried it so it may just be possible, but I somehow doubt it.

Thanks for the relpies ,i have ordered a 4/1 switch.
ginoworm ,i have seen a manual switch which would be easier than swapping leads over.
