Can't get any signal on Arabsat

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone could tell me where I'm going wrong. I have a morotorised system installed it seems to be well aligned. I am getting Astra, Hotbird etc. with 100% or close signal quality, but I can't get anything at all, not even a weak signal, for Arabsat at 30.5E and 26E. I get Astra 2 at 28.2E but nothing at 30.5E where Arabsat should be. I have manually shifted the dish E and W but can't pick up anything.

I have a Pace SD810 reciever with the latest software update (1.0.18), Funke 1m dish, an MTI Blue 0.2dB LNB, and a Disceq 1.2 motor.

Can anyone one help?

A couple of questions, where in the UK are you, and what channels are you looking to get?

There is not much available on the high beam over the UK and you would need a minimum of a 1m dish, larger as you go north and west.

Hi Mate,

You wont get anything on 26 and 30 east you will need a pretty large dish like 2m maybe more bit out of range from the UK.

I disagree.
On 26ºE I get channels in both polarisations ( V and H) on multiplexes transmitting on all 3 beams (ME, BSS and FSS).
Admittedly I have a 1.8 metre offset dish (2 metres high x 1.8m wide) but most of the signals are pretty strong such that I would expect to get them on a 1.2m offset.
I am in Manchester.
30ºE is a different kettle of fish altogether though, nothing received on a quick check just now , although I have the position programmed in so I may have had something from that position at some time.

I did say that you need a larger dish 2m was a rough guess..I have a 1.1m high gain dish and get nothing on 26 east and nothing on 30 east. and I am also in the north west. My system is aligned spot on. It was just a quick off the top of my head judgement about the size of dish required I wasnt far out :o)

BADR 3 and 4 at 26e is a walk in the park for dishs above 80cm

MBC's on 11919 is harder to get further North you get.

No probelms getting 26east in Holyhead on a 1.2metre CM dish!!!! Try 11747 freq it seems to be the strongest.

In North Wales there are many channels on this frequency with a 90 cm dish.

i recieve badr with a 88cm dish from hartlepool, for mbc about 53 to 54%, dubai 1 about 63%, mind i can only get them with a tv in the garden next to the dish which is on a pole, anything under 40% picture breaks up
