Question Can someone please help, I don't know which way to turn !

Ok, brief outline of the dilema.
Currently have Tosh 32" CRT + regular Aerial, VCR and DVD player.
Soon
Purchasing large LCD (notorious for bad picture from poor SD feeds), so I got a couple of quotes for getting an aerial upgrade to get Freeview, I live in a poor signal area so require, big pole, big bracket, new aerial and amp and a very long ladder to install it !, cheapest price £200.
So dilema is what to go for ?
1. Pay £200 for new aerial etc to get freeview, and have to leave investment behind when I move (could be within a year).
2. Freesat £150 all in (I think ??), better quality picture than Freeview ??
would look at getting a DVD recorder to replace the VCR if I can record a channel different to the one i'm watching ??
3. Sky+ with just the basic 2 or 4 choices, things against this are the phone line which will have to find it's way to the other side of the room (a real pain), and the £25/month subs ! is picture quality better than freesat ??

We only want to watch the regular channels, (the selection on freeview is more than enough), Freesat looks like you get loads more on top, not fussed about movies or sport, and I'm sure BBC will be pushing out HD over freesat at some point.

Please give me some advice on which way to turn cos' I'm completely stuck !, I'm just after the best picture quality, with the regular channels plus some extras (like Film4),

Thanks, sorry if the post rambled a bit !

Re: Can someone please help, I don't know which way to turn !

The main channels (apart from Five) are slightly better on Freeview than Satellite

1) Good investment less so if you moving.
2) Decent deal no phone line required.
3) Great product.

Not sure if you can still find the deals but if you are buying a large screen HD display then maybe consider SKY+ HD if you get it at half price and there are picture benefits in having the digital link even for SD channels.

I've ran freeview and freesat side by side ,sometimes freeview is better and sometimes freesat is better, its so close though i'm sure either would do you.
It could be a different on a large lcd though, i would at least have a look at freeview on your screen first.

Freesat will get you Film4 but it won't get other programmes such as E4.
